      Hi,
I am using Grouped Product, I got some items success and some failed in either parent or child items. So was a bit confused, here are some fields that linking child and parent: parent <-> post_title, parent_sku <-> sku, post_parent <-> ID.

I read the documentation but there is no clear instruction show which field is the PRIMARY FIELD FOR LINKING that you must enter and which field you can leave it blank. Let’s say for new product creation using csv import, can I skip the “post_parent” & “ID” fields to prevent duplicate ID error (post is not a product)?

Also, the “Parent” field and “parent_sku”, must I need to enter both fields to make the linking works, or I can skip the “Parent” field, to make my work simple?

For child products, in the “post_name” field show something like “Variation #number of ….”, are they auto generated by the system, or need to enter on my own before import the csv?

      Thank you!

      Hi Craig,

You need only post_parent or parent_sku don’t have ID and post_parent. Let us know if any help needed.

The article still not so detailed, anyway, about the post_name field, it was actually the url correct? sometimes the system generated a shortened url that I to import?

      Now I to clarify here.

Preferred URL in post_name field will not cause any problem. Its the URL of the product and will add one incremental number if the same perma link exist in database. Let me know if anymore queries.
