Hi guys! Sorry for bad English, I speak French. Is there any way to add mailing Tube as box option in the plugin’s backend? Canada Post is charging a 1.50$ fee for the mailing tube and I’m not able to get the exact total amount when I’m comparing the price on Canada Post admin vs my wordpress admin price. Maybe you have a workaround or something. Thanks a lot!

    Hi lan,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

As of now, unfortunately the ‘Mailing Tube’ feature is not available with the plugin. However, as a workaround, you can create a custom box of the ‘Mailing Tube’ dimensions and weight limit. Once done, we can provide you a mechanism to add additional fee to the shipping cost, whenever this box is selected for packing.

Hope this solution will work you!

    Hi Anindo,

Thanks for the quick answer, I setup the box, everything’s working fine except the $1.50 + taxes ($1.72) fee that is missing. Could you provide me the mechanism to add this additional fee as you explained in your answer?

    Thanks a lot,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,

    Apologies for my previous reply.

To add an additional cost based on box/package is quite tricky to achieve. However, as a work around, you can assign a shipping class to the products that requires ‘Mail tube’ box dimensions. And based on the shipping class of the products, you can add an additional fee to the shipping cost.

Hope this solution will for you!

Hi! Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, I think this solution doesn’t work. It adds the fee to the client at the checkout, but when I want to print the shipping label, the paid amount on the label doesn’t include this fee…it was charge to the client, but it’s not related to the calculated price from the Canada Post API. So, when I go to the local Post Office, the guy is charging me an extra amount (1.50) for each box because the price on the label is not correct. I totally lost the advantages of the plugin. I don’t know if it’s clear. I think that an option in the plugin backend as the Additional infos dropdown with the Mailing Tube option (connected to the canada post api option) should be the right way. Any other idea? Thanks!

    Hi Ian,

    Thanks for explanation.

However with the snippet solution, you will be able to adjust the additional amount which you will be paying to ‘Canada Post’ guy in the front-end(cart/checkout) page, so as to compensate the loss that you incur at the back-end(Order page).

Solution: Whenever the “mail-tube” class products are in the cart, an additional charge of (1.5) will be added and shown to the customer on cart/checkout.

Wouldn’t this solution work for you?
