Changing the date format - XAdapter

  Hello,
  
  I’d like to change the date format from DD-MM-YYYY to MM-DD-YYYY or even MONTH DATE, YEAR.
  
  I found a snippet claiming it would allow for this change at: https://www.xadapter.com/woocommerce-print-invoice-packing-slip-delivery-note-label-change-date-format/ but when I tried adding that snippet, nothing changed.
  
  Please advise.
